Before having legal permission to the information from the Legal Medicine Institute and as well as the police kept evidences about criminal causes against women in Cuba, I started a general investigation about cases registered in any region all over the world. Facts at random, without a specific line.

I had the opportunity to get an article based on denounces in India; it represented my first step in taking the decision to use my body (specially my face) as the physical basement for the work.

One of my main objectives was to put make-up on my face to change my traces so as to represent the faces of the victims after receiving sulphuric acid aggression. The cosmetics (lip stick, basic cream, eye liner, eye-shadow...) are used to create the real appearance of a hit, a black skin, inflammation and blood.

This face is also a metaphor of any human aspect that is suffering, painful, dark, and sad that this person hides from others even from himself. I do not consider these series as photographic, but as documents that registered these short performances without an audience; but that has a process of corporal transformation. A state that I face and add to me.
