Calentamiento (Warming up), Performance, Berlin Biennale 2022
Hice esta performance de forma espontánea y sin previo aviso. Ocurrió durante la inauguración de la Bienal en uno de sus espacios principales llamado KW. La acción que realizo representa cómo he sentido mi relación con este evento y el poema (que a su vez funciona como statement de la obra) pone la acción en contexto. Calentamiento fue un acto de liberación en el cual defendí mis principios y mostré no rendirme ante obstáculos institucionales. El cuerpo aquí no solo se preparaba para una ‘carrera’ sino que resistía ante toda presión externa.
I did this performance spontaneously and without prior notice. It happened during the opening of the Berlin Biennale in one of its main spaces called KW. The action I perform represents how I have felt my relationship with this event and the poem (which in turn functions as a statement of the work) puts the action in context. Calentamiento was an act of liberation in which I defended my principles and showed not to surrender to institutional obstacles. The body here was not only preparing for a 'race' but also resisting all the external pressure.
