De lo que contaba la abuela… es parte de mi archivo familiar que comparto con el espectador. Mi intención aquí es reafirmar la fortaleza de las mujeres en mi familia que siempre han luchado en circunstancias de alta dificultad y representarlas en una forma digna.

Mi abuela fue madre soltera al igual que mi madre y mis tías. Esto me ha hecho pensar mucho en la fuerza que tiene una madre soltera impulsada por su propia fuerza interna para librar batallas diarias; a mis ojos se transforma en heroína.

Todas las mujeres representadas en esta seria tienen la misma altura (1.70m) que es mi medida. Uso esto como metáfora de cómo ellas son mis mayores referentes en la vida.

De lo que contaba la abuela… is part of my family archive that I share with the public. My intention here is to reaffirm the strength of the women in my family who have always fought in highly difficult circumstances and I also want to represent them in a dignified way.

My grandmother was a single mother as well as my mother and my aunts. This had made me think a lot about the strength of a single mother who is driven by her own internal force to fight daily battles; in my eyes she becomes a heroine.

All the women represented in this work have the same height (1.70m) that's how tall I am. This size is a metaphor that they are my measure line and my greatest references in life.
